Startup battle at Innovation Day 2024

The main event of Innovation Day was the Battle of the Startups! The eight best teams selected from among the applicants competed for valuable prizes from partners: ume. pleace, KTC technical partner, and the main prize - a grant of UAH 50,000 from Vinnytsia City Council.

Startups that were shortlisted for the competition: Tayra.ai Tayra is a revolutionary AI assistant for doctors. It automatically records, organizes, and analyzes data during patient appointments, fills out medical documents and suggests questions to help with more accurate diagnoses.

MIL-SIM A combination of military expertise and technical innovation. Their smartphone-based grenade launcher simulator creates a training environment for soldiers regardless of location.

Instructor.in.ua A convenient platform for finding driving instructors that simplifies driver training and helps you quickly find a reliable specialist.

AStime A team management tool with JIRA integration that optimizes projects by allowing all team members to interact conveniently.

Dalus Software for modeling complex hardware systems in the aerospace, defense, and medical industries. Support for SysML v2 allows for faster modeling and integration with other solutions.

Кава ветеранам A charity startup that provides an opportunity to pay for coffee for the military through an app. The military can see the nearest coffee shops to get a pre-paid drink.

A collective purchasing service that brings buyers together to help them save money through joint orders.

VELME A platform for restaurants and shops that offers a new level of customer interaction through innovative solutions. According to the criteria: "innovativeness," "commercial potential," "team," "presentation," "demo," and "social value," an expert jury made the evaluations:

• Dariia Nyshporska, executive director of the IT association in Vinnytsia, is an expert in the global development of IT business and strategic partnerships.

• Anatoii Klepach, executive director of UA Tech Network, is an expert in network technologies and startup development.

• Mariia Romanova, executive director of Radar Tech, is an expert in corporate innovation, startup development, and investment attraction.

• Yuriy Gumenchuk, Commercial Director and co-founder of the R&D center WINSTARS.AI, is an expert in the marketing and development of artificial intelligence.

• Volodymyr Romanenko, director of the information technology department, is an expert in the development of information technologies and e-government technologies in the executive bodies of the city council.

• Serhii Oprya, executive director and co-founder of the G*AGGREGATOR ecosystem — an expert in the development of startups, investments, and entrepreneurial ecosystems;

• Ruslan Barabash, manager of sales organization at UKRSIBBANK BNP GROUP, is an expert in banking services and sales organization.

🎯 Preparation for pitching is a separate story from this event.

The organizers provided preliminary support for startups to ensure that the teams were confident in their presentations and could convey their ideas not only to the jury but also to potential investors.

From our side, the startups were assisted by Mariana Tataryn, Finance and Technology Advisor | Canada & USA at the IT Association of Vinnytsia. She has in-depth expertise in digital transformation, ERP systems implementation, and financial process automation in the public and commercial sectors. Mariana has worked for Deloitte and PwC in Canada and the United States, and today she advises Ukrainian technology initiatives, including as an advisor at the WINSTARS.AI R&D center.

She helped the teams improve their pitch decks, clearly articulate their business model, and make their presentations more convincing to potential investors. Her mentoring support added confidence and structure to each presentation.
