IT VN Research 2024 is the fourth annual study of the IT industry in the Vinnytsia region. It aims to analyze economic indicators, the human resources market, educational programs, technological needs, and the industry's contribution to Ukraine's victory. This project helps to understand the key trends, challenges, and prospects of the market.
The study is based on data collected through anonymous online questionnaires among IT professionals and HR departments of Vinnytsia region companies and on statistics from open sources.
RESULTS OF IT VN RESEARCH 2024
Key economic indicators
As of 2024, 9,775 individual entrepreneurs and 644 legal entities operate in Vinnytsia and the region under IT CEA. Over the past three years, the number of legal entities has increased by 47%, while the number of individual entrepreneurs has decreased by 2.3%. The total taxes paid during this period increased by 62% for individual entrepreneurs and 105% for companies.

About 11 thousand specialists work in Vinnytsia. The average age of respondents has increased to 31-40 years, and women comprise 40% of respondents. Almost 70% of specialists stay in Vinnytsia, 15% are planning to move, and another 15% are undecided.

Education
41% of respondents have a master's degree, and 21.7% have a bachelor's degree. Vinnytsia National Technical University and other regional universities remain the leading educational centers for IT professionals. Additionally, 73% of specialists studied at IT schools, including IT Academy and Epam Campus.

Market demand for specialists and development prospects in IT
Experienced specialists (Senior), particularly Software engineers and QA engineers, are in the highest demand in the Vinnytsia region. Developers, testers, and designers account for over 65% of the market. The majority of respondents rate their career prospects as medium or high.

Workspace and infrastructure
The region is dominated by medium-sized outsourcing and product companies (up to 100 employees). About 90% of employees are full-time, and 44.5% of companies have a bench of specialists.

Contribution to Ukraine's Victory
90% of respondents support the Armed Forces financially, with the average donation amounting to $180 monthly. In addition, Vinnytsia companies are actively engaged in volunteering: they help IDPs and participate in humanitarian projects, cyber defense, and information campaigns.

The results of IT VN Research 2024 demonstrate the steady growth of the IT industry in the Vinnytsia region, even in difficult times. The growth in the number of legal entities, the rapid increase in tax revenues, and the high level of employment of specialists demonstrate the region's potential as a technology hub.
At the same time, companies' and professionals' active participation in volunteer initiatives and support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrates the industry's social responsibility. Educational programs focused on AI/ML and modern technologies form the basis for the development of innovations.
The demand for experienced specialists, especially Software Engineers and QA Engineers, confirms Vinnytsia's competitiveness in the global market. However, to maintain the industry's growth dynamics, investing in educational initiatives, modernizing infrastructure, and developing international partnerships is crucial.
